Purple Foodservice Solutions

Purple Foodservice Solutions (PFS) operates the Worldwide Food Supply Contract on behalf of the Ministry of Defence. In 2008 they decided to seek certification to ISO 14001:2004 and appointed The Quality Team to assist them in developing a management system meeting the requirements of the standard. PFS were keen to gain certification at the earliest opportunity so we planned the project to fit in with the earliest available dates for certification audit.

Our consultant visited the PFS offices on a number of occasions, helping to complete and document the preliminary environmental review, advising on and assisting in the development of the required procedures and performing internal audits. PFS had already completed some analysis of their significant environmental aspects and this formed the basis of their objectives and targets, and of the environmental programmes implemented to achieve them.

Once the system had been implemented, our consultant performed a cycle of internal audit on behalf of PFS.

We also provided telephone and email support, and reviewed documentation remotely as it was completed.

The Quality Team were able to assist with the appointment of a certification body and attended the two certification audits which resulted in successful certification to the standard within the required timescale.
